CTGIANG: Motivation and inspiration to make a difference, hello 2012.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

Even if we break apart, we’ll find a way to find peace with each other. We’ll either move on together or we’ll move on without each other the same way, but we’ll still have each other for all the times necessary.

Some comfort lies in the in between stages in our lives with certain people in our lives. You may not know where you stand in these in betweens but a sense of comfort may follow with it. Seemingly, happiness with a person can help contribute to this comfort. If you are happy with a person in your life, why do you need to change anything? Yes, you may want a title to what you may be or an answer to your questions, but do those things determine you and that person’s future? Does having a title or a ring make you stay with a person? Think about this, despite that you may want these things, if you are being treated right and happy, what value does a ring hold other than monetary and aesthetic value? Maybe you are used to an idea of having a title and a ring because of your upbringing and the picture painted by society of a relationship and marriage. Commitment doesn’t need to be shown by a title or a ring, one’s actions can prove that as well with just as powerful of a message. When you live your own life and others live theirs, yet you meet somewhere mutual at a mutual time to be together because you choose to is significant. If you choose to be with someone, you are making a choice to give them time and the opportunity to share things with you. The value of a bond with someone should not be defined by things that can be bought, but they are more than welcome to be things to enhance or bring more to a relationship. Just my 4am thoughts.

pp90:

It’s never enough.
When we find the girl that we wanna pursue. It’s all about impressing and being the man. We do everything for them, whether its paying for dinner, to opening a car door like a gentlemen. From little gifts, to diamond necklace… but why do we forget? we become so comfortable in the relationship, we forget. We stop going out, we stop trying. Really, we lose attention. Then we wonder why our girl got up and leaves. It’s not that she finds a better man, or that she needs time alone. It’s that we stop giving her the attention she needs and deserve. We take it for granted. So simple, but yet we forget. Turn off the TV, put away the video games, put on a clean shirt, and take your damn girl out. Wine and Dine, before some other guy does.

A “knot” ring. The ring symbolizes a knot that is not quite tied yet, but has all intentions of being tied. A promise ring.

I want one so bad.

Watch this, pass it on, I guarantee it will move you.

Gender roles shouldn’t be tied to what one’s sex is, society has evolved beyond such stratifications.

Why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger:
The Chinese give a beautiful explanation to this.
The thumb represents your parents.
The index finger represents your siblings.
The middle finger represents yourself.
The ring finger represents your life partner.
The little finger/pinky represents your children.
Hold your hands together like the picture. Join your middle fingers back-to-back, and the remaining fingers tip-to-tip.
Now, try to separate your thumbs. They will separate because your parents are not destined to live with you forever. Rejoin your thumbs and separate your index fingers. They will separate because your siblings will have their own families and lead their own lives. Rejoin your index fingers and separate your little fingers/pinkies. They will separate because your children will grow up, get married, and settle down. Rejoin your little fingers/pinkies and try to separate your ring finger. They will not be able to separate because your life partner is meant to be with you throughout your entire life, through thick and thin.
